Our Approach

Each psychologist brings distinct therapeutic perspective shaped by diverse clinical experience across public health, community services and private practice. We match you with a clinician whose expertise aligns with your specific situation.

Intake Process

Contact our team to discuss scheduling. We offer in-person consultations at our Frankston location and secure telehealth sessions throughout Victoria. Initial appointments involve comprehensive assessment and collaborative treatment planning.

Culturally Responsive

We acknowledge mental health experiences are shaped by cultural background, socioeconomic circumstances and individual identity. Our care is clinically rigorous and attuned to your unique context.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What should I expect during my first appointment?
  • Do I need a referral from my GP?
  • How long does therapy typically last?
  • What is the difference between a general and clinical psychologist?
  • Are telehealth sessions as effective as face-to-face?
  • What are your fees and cancellation policies?

Your initial session lasts approximately 50 minutes and focuses on understanding your reasons for seeking support, relevant personal history, and what you hope to achieve through therapy. There is no obligation to share more than you feel comfortable with; the pace is entirely guided by your readiness.

Additional Information

Professional Development

We maintain active involvement in the mental health community through conference attendance, peer consultation and clinical training programs. Our psychologists have presented workshops on trauma-informed practice, neurodevelopmental assessment and substance use intervention strategies.

We also provide contracted services to local organisations including employee assistance programs, critical incident debriefing and workplace mental health training

.

Preparing for Your Visit

Arrive ten minutes early to complete administrative requirements. Bring relevant documentation including previous psychological reports, psychiatric assessments, or your Mental Health Care Plan if applicable.

Our consulting rooms promote calm and confidentiality, with accessible facilities for clients with mobility considerations. Free parking is provided on-site, with public transport routes connecting to central Frankston.

Psychological Assessment

Formal assessment serves multiple purposes beyond diagnostic clarification. Cognitive evaluation illuminates intellectual strengths and vulnerabilities, informing educational planning and vocational guidance. Personality assessment provides nuanced understanding of characteristic patterns that may underlie recurrent difficulties.

Feedback sessions following assessment are integral to the process, presenting findings in accessible language and collaborating on implementation of recommendations

.

Sustaining Therapeutic Gains

Effective intervention extends beyond symptom reduction to relapse prevention and resilience building. As therapy concludes, we consolidate gains, identify early warning signs and develop specific response plans.

The door to return remains open. Many clients establish intermittent contact patterns, returning for brief review sessions during demanding periods rather than continuous engagement
